getting my .243 re-barreled soon and i am thinking of going for a 1-8 twist i mainly use nosler 70grn heads
yes no or maybe so ???

my head is hurting from searching the internet for the right answer ??

thanks

Nope! wrong twist. My thoughts are tighter twist works with heavier bullets. Normal for .243Win is 1-10 to shoot lighter bullets say up to 100gn. ATB

It's not got anything to do with weight. It's the length of the bullet. Just so happens that the longer bullet in any given caliber is heavier.... ..usually. Look up greenhills formula.

1 in 8 will work with 70 grainers, and the long 105 amax if you fancy trying some longer range shooting too. It may reduce velocity of your normal loads by a few fps, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over it

That's exactly what I want a very accurate everyday 70 grn load and then to work up a load for the longer 105-115 for a bit of long range stuff
