    Blairdrummond Reds

Really surprised to see a group of red deer grazing very near to Blair Drummond, Stirling today. Wasn't previously aware reds were there!
    Ambitious photo on the phone!

There are two resident herds of 8 reds on Blairdrummond and that is the way hopefully they shall remain. The reds have also crossed the Forth to somewhere else for the first time in 15 years. Timber operations on Flanders moss have moved them out..

So they are on my side of the river now? Interesting!
We had a sika stag two years ago, but he must have been lost or wandering!

There is a healthy resident stag which i often see 2 fields along.

I am very close to here and we have a very nice little stock of reds.

There was a nice young stag with them when I first drove past, it was a great unexpected bonus to the day.
It would be great to see their numbers increase in lowland settings!

Over 200 were counted in one pasture less than 3 miles from Blairdrummond. Forestry work is disturbing them.
