Good things come to those who wait

Well, after spending a while without a permission, I've bagged one today - 35 miles from home, only 60 acres of farmland with a small copse in the middle, but just North of Midhurst in West Sussex, bordered on two sides by National Trust owned common land (mostly heavily wooded & full of deer)

Farmer is friend of a friend of a friend, more bothered about rabbits and foxes, but is more than happy if I take any deer, and all for free.

I am dancing round the room at the moment!

So, its still out there if you keep networking.

Congratulations Labrat, that looks a lovely little spot, I can see you spending many hours tucked up down there?
    Happy hunting.

Thanks - yes, I reckon I can find a reasonable spot to cover a decent length of woodland edge

Good work that man! As others have said, looks promising! I stalk just down the road and there's certainly no shortage of deer.

well done labrat, it does not matter if its 10 acres or 1000 its somewhere to go and enjoy being outside, with the added bonus that it will fill your freezer

exactly..... I like high seat hunting (??) because it's a few hours of forced relaxation... I'll go the first time this year on tuesday.... I get so tied up in watching other birds/animals (or dozing) that the deer are a second attraction.....

Good stuff! Getting permission seems to be like the holy grail of shooting/stalking, but it's encouraging to see it can be done, especially with all the doomsayers on here who say it's always about money and whatever else. Enjoy!
