    Subsonic

Does anyone know of a large calibre bullet that opens up at Sub Sonic speeds.
If there isn't one then its about time there bloody well was.

There was a guy in NZ who was developing a subsonic bullet and rifle was in one of the mags about 18mths ago.

Why not? Surely some of the larger calibre so would meet the legal criteria.

You would need roughly 450g @ 1000fps , doable but not really practical ? And to make it useful you'd need a 45cal moderator ?
    Right where's those stones , I'll start !

12g Mossberg Hushpower with subsonic slug (hand)loads; slug on ticket; and license for deer with shotgun to prevent crop damage...

No expansion, but a big enough hole anyway!

    But why???

A single shot from a rifle with a good suppressor will do the job better, and with fewer legal hurdles.

Looks like he might be in New Zealand, not sure if they have different regulations over there?

    Oops! I missed that.

All the same, I don't think there is a large-calibre bullet that will open up well at subsonic velocities - something to do with the laws of physics, I suppose.
