    Blaser Info

    Hi Guys,

eventually took the plunge and got my blaser, got the r93 black and i love it. My question is it doesnt come with a stud for a bipod on it. can i just drill the wood carefully and screw in a stud for the bipod or do i need to buy the wider forend to use a bipod with it?

    cheers BB

i have the plastic stock and blaser make a stud to fit, i would remove the barrel and see if there is a recess.

For my synthetic stock I bought one of the Harris Bipod adapters.

I used the version with the metal plate (HB2), which works a treat, but they do a variety to suit every need:

Hb2r for wood, i wouldnt use a screw in stud straight into the wood, that might end in tears!

Although I use X sticks rather than quads I agree.

I used the Harris HB2 plate stud on my R8 and I do still use the bipod for range work but never for stalking when I just find the stud a bit of a nuisance when resting the rifle.

Location wise as far back on the fore end as possible without obstructing access to the bolt that secures it.

You could always go down the Versapod route Rob..

Recently took delivery of R8 Proff success. Didnt want to mess with drilling the stock given the plates and supports. Went the versapod option. Works well.

I can't believe you Blaser guys are happy to spend that much money on a rifle and then either take a drill to it or spend even more money in order to fit an attachment for a versa pod.
