    another question for the ballistitians

    My ballistic calculator asks for powder temperature, how can you measure that when its inside the case , how do you measure that, metals are generally colder than other things, would powder be the same temp as the case.

    Powder will have same temp as the case. If temp changes then the powder might follow changes slightly delayed but not by much.
    Metals are not colder than the surroundings unless maybe wet or might be hotter if sun shines on them.

    Metals seem colder than surroundings if one touches them, only because they transfer heat from your finger etc. away faster than many other materials,
    this is only if the object is colder than your body temp.
