    Best budget scope for .243

Hi, just got my firearms ticket and bought a Remington 700 sps with no scope, there was a 3-9 x 50 Hawke on it before I bought it. Had a few shots and it seemed an ok wee scope, was going to replace with the same, any thoughts?
Any recommendation on a starter scope on a budget of about 200??
    cheers Richard

I have had a whitetail classic on my 6.5 for some years without problem for quite a few years
then I was offered a ziess duralit for very little money so now use that.

I'd agree with Jimbo, I have the same gun as you bought, and had a Meopta 6x42 on it...fantastic scope, but decided on a slightly bigger mag, and got a 2nd hand Meopta 7x50 from Bushwear in Stirling for 175...absolutely love it, I thought the 6x42 was the bees knees, but the 7x50 is amazing...
