    120gn 6.5 bullets

    Hi All,

Any of you use 120gn bullets in 6.5x55? i had good results with Nosler ballistic tips but can't get hold of them round here at the moment. I used 130gn Sierra prohunters in the .270 and liked them. Has anyone tried them in 120gn in the 6.5?

    Ezzy

120 grain Barnes TSX, averaging 3000fps, very pleased with these, although I fancy 100 grain BT

    I'm using 120gr Prohunters in the 260rem.

About 2925 with a sub-max load of Benchmark.

Very accurate and seem to hit pretty hard. I have only shot about 4 deer with them so far, but the got the job done.

Has anyone tried them in 120gn in the 6.5

Yes, use Nosler 120 gn BTs with IMR 4350. Very accurate and much cheaper than buying the factory Norma 120gn BTs (also use Nosler bullets)

Some of the guys here that are 6.5x55 fanatics are having fun with the PRVI 120 grain bullet. Good accuracy and killing effectiveness.~Muir

The 120's are Boat Tail Hollow points

This is the link to the US distributor. I have been unable to get any as they are continuously out of stock. I don't know the loads as I usually follow my own heart once the bullets are in hand. All I've been reading is accuracy and performance; all are positive reviews. ~Muir

    120gn 6.5 bullets

Ezzy, I have been using 120 grain sierra for years on roe, muntjac and foxes. With IMR 4064 I get around 2890 fps through my sako 23" barrel and 2780 through my BSA Stutzen (19"). Am about to try some loads at Bisley using these in front of Vhit N560 and N160.

    Hi Techman,

I have got half a tub of N160 left and was going to try some 120g prohunters next time i go to the range. I worked up a load with Nosler 120s with Varget, it was very accurate but very slow so i shelved it for a hotter but a bit less accurate 140 partition load. now i cant get hold of partitions locally so i've been using 129sst's but last week i had a jacket seperate compleatly ( i found it in the grass) and i can' get them to shoot like the noslers.
If Mike norris has some pro hunters i'm gonna get a box then if they work i'm going to buy a shed load of them. I used the pro hunters in .270 and they were allways good.
Let me know how you get on with the Vhit loads if you get yours done first.
