Getting decent edge on a swingblade

Anyone else have problems getting a decent edge back on an EKA swingblade? I'm talking about the normal cutting blade, not the gutting one.

I normally use a Lansky system which brings my Mora knives to razor sharp edge but finding it really difficult getting this on the swingblade.

Are you using a leather strop after the lanski?
I do and it's razor sharp.
Below is a link to my website.

Had the same problem, I re defined the blade cutting angle on mine as they appear hollow ground, I took mine back to 23 degrees flat and haven't any problems since it keeps a razor sharp edge. All it needs is a strop up now and then.

all the best and good luck with it

Managed to fix it. Looked up on the eka website and they actually sharpen their blades at 40 degrees. I had been using the 20 or 17 degree setting on the lansky.
I changed this and took it stepwise back to 30 degrees angle on the lansky and it was razor sharp within a few passes.
I suppose it's reassuring that the steel is so tough that you can't change the angle on the edge.
I do use a strop board as well.
