    Vihtavuori N140

I have just acquired 1kg of N140. Is there any data for a .223 with a one in fourteen twist barrel using 50-55g bullets? The rifle is a Thompson Center, Contender G2. I bought it (the powder) by mistake and I cannot find any data for anything less than 60g which a one-in-fourteen will not stabilise.

the Vhit manual (last years, there is a new one out) gives 24.2grns as a starting point for Lapua 55 grn softpoints, try downloding the latest manual.

"'The matter is under consideration' means we have lost the file. 'The matter is under active consideration' means we are trying to find the file."

There are two barrel lengths 14" (G2 Contender Pistol) and 23" (G2 Contender Rifle).

I'm sure that both are the standard .223 1:12" twist (not 1:14").

Even if it was 1:14 there's no problem in stabilising 60gr bullets.

    Your N140 will work fine.

If I'm going to be accused of it then it's just as well I did it.

My Contender G2 rifle had a 23in barrel but was cut down to 20in and threaded for a mod by it's previous owner. I was told that it had a 1:14 twist but that may be wrong, I hope so. Thanks for the help.
