sat here having lunch, knock on the door from a bloke in uniform, tels me he has had a report of me trapping birds,

you mean the larson trap? someone let the call bird out a couple of weeks ago,

had a reasonable chat, he wants to call me out for RTAs locally for deer.:D

Braver man than me. I wouldn't have let them past the front gate without a warrant and attendant police officers.
Many a person been caught out by what seems to be a nice person.

Glad to hear it ended well mike but I wouldn't do rtas for them as I'd be too worried about being set up :/

Did anybody see them no tv this morrning they had been call out to a red stag that had a life ring around its antler ,they needed to get with in 20 yrds to drat it and remove the ring ,4 days off chacesing the poor group around with no result ,he even put camo paint on his face  . i thuoght that was quite crule and stressfull for the deer ,good old rspsa

he was already 150 yds up my drive, standing outside the door, the dogs were not happy,

Bob,

I had a similar visit a couple of years back. Was just about to tell her to sling her hook but then thought, no sod it, I'm not doing anything wrong or illegal so let her in. After one look at the larsen she asked me if I'd had many and on hearing I had, she was glad due to the damage they were doing to the song bird population. That was the only time I have ever met someone from the RSPCA with an iota of sense. My only other encounters with them have been like trying to educate pork!

as above unless they have a police escort with a warrant hunt the buggers , nothing more than a member of the public in fancy dress,
i know of a guy who the SSPCA would bring injured birds , and did so for years , next thing they tried to prosecute him for having british birds without the correct paperwork THAT THEY HAD BROUGHT HIM

:scared: would be watching my back on the first call out !! now't like being on film for the courts to drop you in the do do's .:doh:they have a one track mind and its not all about the animals !!welfare with them they do like big exposure case's to bring in the cash

An RSPCA 'Inspector' has no more powers at law than you or I; just because they call themselves an 'Inspector' and wear quasi-Police uniform means nowt if they dont have a uniformed officer with a warrant. There are a few very proficient solicitors in defending [very often successfully] those unfortunate enough to be at the sharp end of RSPCA allegations [PM me for details; I am not a solicitor nor am I on retainer]

same here dont give them time of day,35 horses in one field nr me about 2acres the other month when we got deluged all over britain no water exept the stuff they were stood in no hay /straw/grass pure mud up past there hocks for weeks at the side of an A road no one came anywhere near it and still havnt, why gypsy cobs thats why, who they gonna prosecute,?

Nothing ever comes out good from a visit from the RSPCA or the BBC , both only have one agenda , to catch you out, with the line of employment I am in , I have had to call on the RSPCA to offer assistance ( policy in some situations) never have they proved to be of any use.
