Thread: Illuminated reticles

    Illuminated reticles

I'm looking at buying a swarovski scope and can't decide on an illuminated or standard reticle (z6i or z6). Is illumination worth the extra 500? Speaking to my friends, the general consensus was no, it isn't. Just wondering what you guys think.

I have a Z6 and I like it a lot. I can only think of one scenario when it might have been helpful to have had an illuminated dot. Regards JCS

I agree with JCS as the only time i switch mine on is to check the battery is not dud.

been having the same dilemma myself as i'm looking for a scope for my 243... now i have 2 other scopes with ir & i have to say that i very rarely use it... so for 500 quid extra i would say not really, unless your loaded!!

Agreed, worth 50 not 500. Never use mine even when lamping.

I have one on a scope and never use it, i think if you need to illuminate your reticule to shoot it is too dark to shoot...........
