Ok thanks Bandit, seems most that buy a pair are well chuffed with them for the cost etc.. I can get some BV 8x42 for £150 I think that's the mag I'm leaning towards just might be a bit handier carrying around..

FWIW, these have been my main stalking bino's for the last 4 years, woodland, crops, hill, whatever, and they have never let me down. whilst the old 7x40 zeiss coke bottle bino's are great, they're sooo heavy and long in comparison..

    These aren't bad at all!

    Review here: http://www.bestbinocularsreviews.com...12x42AW-37.htm

Unfortunately they can't be had for the £45 mentioned in the link any more, but they're not much more expensive. Here is a pair for £54: Bushnell 211242 Speciality 12x42 Binoculars (Previously Jessops Exclusive @ ¬£99) | eBay

Well thanks for all the info chaps, but after a little research I bought some opticron verano 10x42 off the bay, ex display from a shop for £144 which I'm quite pleased about as they are £450 binos! I did think they would make to much money, hope I've done the right thing, just sold some lecia trinovid's they were 10x50's and were excellent glasses just very big. And gone are the days when I can have £500-£600 tied up in some binoculars. I know the opticrons won't be as good but hopefully there do for the meantime..
