    Cleaning a synthetic stock

    Guys. My synthetic stock is looking a bit grotty. (Grey in parts ). Any recommendations on what to clean it with before I break out the marigolds and Mr pledge

    Is the grey grime or do you think you've worn through a surface?

    Either way - start with Acetone. (Wife's nail polish remover....!!) and a cloth.

    I wouldn't use acetone - that stuff can eat through a whole load of materials.

    Nor would I. Use warm soapy water only, if you feel that you just have to clean it.
    It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

    I agree, Acetone is a pretty brutal solvent so I'd use with extreme care. If you do need something stronger move up the scale of cleaning agents before you get to Acetone. If you then still feel the need to use it try it carefully on a small area that isn't too precious or visible.
