    Which barrel to have???

I'm looking at getting a r8 the Oneida have seen has a 23" match barrel, or do I get a 20" std barrel for it?

    any thoughts would be appreciated.

    regards

    What calibre? 270?

Won't your choice be dictated by how you intend to use the rifle and the cartridge that it will be chambered for (best ballistic advantage)?
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

In that case I'd go 20", especially if you already have a .270 (as your name suggests) for long shots.
