    .222 powder choices

Im currently looking for a decent powder for my sako .222, the plan is to load it with 50gr vmax for foxing and longer range bunnies. Having phoned today i have the choice of the following 3 imr 4198 n133 and n135. Im thinking probably the imr or 133 but am undecided as to which and would welcome any thoughts from everybody!

H322 was always the BR shooters choice for the .222 but Vit 133 is now the favourite for those still using this excellent little cartridge in BR competition.

Imr 4198 works a treat in the deuce. It's all I use in mine even though it's not so easy to aquire as others

I use vit 120 with 50g sierra or 50g nosler bt and get 1/2 inch groups at 100m with my 10yr old tikka.

N130 or N133 will take some beating, as will Vectan Tu2000 if you can get it. The best loads that I ever shot in my .222rem were loaded with Tu2000 the only problem with it is that the distribution network for this powder isn't too good.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

I honestly believe you could shovel any of those powders into a .222 case using a spoon and seat the bullets with a hammer and still load accurate ammo! it is almost impossible to not get sub MOA loads in a treble IMO.
most of my development loads were all very similar

I use N133 under everything from 50gr, 52gr to 60gr personally, but I prefer Viht

Thanks for the input so far chaps, the reason i listed those 3 powders is that's what my local place has got and reckons he can get hold of easily in the foreseeable future, i would of probably gone h322 if he had that and thought no more of it as i currently use h380 in my 22-250 but he has none and doesnt see any coming in for a while, so im guessing varget will be a definite out of stock item. Im leaning towards n133 at the moment........i think!!

Well if you get a 1kg tub of N133 then you will be doing a heck of a lot of shooting to require another.
