Thread: Cleaning the Mod?

    Cleaning the Mod?

A good way down the load development route with my Sauer 6.5 x 55.
I'm not cleaning the rifle (except crown) at this stage since there are a couple of small changes I'd like to try before settling on one load for "fine tuning" !
That said, what about cleaning the mod between load development sessions?

Why are you not cleaning your rifle?

I would be way more concerned about cleaning my rifle rather that my sound moderator

As above, why on earth not clean the barrel, forget the mod, a squirt of WD40 will do now and again, but clean the bore surely.....
Opinions are like arseholes....... we all have them, and most of them stink

My thoughts were not to change anything by deep cleaning the barrel until load development was complete.

It depends, if you are always going to shoot deer with a clean barrel then every different load should be shot from a clean barrel. If you are going to shoot it fouled then do load development with a fouled/dirty barrel. Just my 2p.
