send them to docter and have them repaired FOC..failing that being on offer, explain to them the failings of their customer service proposition and that you will be purchasing XYZ other brand(s) going forwards with no hesitation to recommend others NOT to use Docter...also, always powerful to refer to the Sale of Goods Act 1979

    Hi PKL
spoke to Docter and they said they didn't do repairs and referred me to somebody in Germany who wanted €140 to service and repair + parts.
I have 5 Docter Scopes 2 of which are broken I was going to get a new unipoint but bought a Khales instead.
I have always rated Docter scopes but won't buy anymore.

As far as Docter scopes are concerned, I think they have a lifetime guarantee, but only for things that are their fault if I can put it that way. I bought a scope which leaked, sent it back to Harald Ros, who may be "the guy in Germany" and got it back fully repaired for free.
When I dropped my binoculars on the kitchen floor and dislodged a prism, or something, seeing 6 deer instead of 3, (!) I had to pay.
Interesting for us all to hear of these others in UK who are recommended. Very handy.
