I for one really want to see how this turns out. I've made a few knives and always looking for new ideas and styles.

I was disappointed (but hardly surprised) by how your last thread degenerated with the usual suspects turning up and commenting just to irritate others.

The last email I had told me the blade will go through its first grind today and/or tomorrow and some photos will follow. I will post them as and when they turn up.

    In the meantime:

Here's the sort of finished product I am hoping for, within my humble budget. Click image for larger version.

This ornate and silver decorated, beautifully engraved showpiece is the man's own dagger (and it does actually get used too) Click image for larger version.

    Nice on SL6.5

Look forward to seeing the finished article ready to go "up-country" for a spot of pig-sticking

According to Wikipedia, on pig-sticking Baden-Powell wrote-

In Lessons from the Varsity of Life he says that "I never took the usual leave to the hills in hot weather because I could not tear myself away from the sport."

    Sounds good to me.

Those knives look great! Thanks for sharing them, and the photos of yours in progress.

I would like a vintage German hunter's sword, but they are so expensive. This inspires me to see about a new one for myself, either made by me, or made for me. Who is the craftsman of these knives?
