Holiday nr Hereford - gun shops worth visiting?

Missus is lining up the next summer holiday and has identified a nice cottage nor Hereford.
Before agreeing to that one I thought I'd check the collective SD brains for good gunshops ranges etc in the vicinity

It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.

Access could prove difficult, but best of luck.

Shops wise the two that come to mind straight away are Phillip Morris in the middle of the city and R&B Sporting in Ross-on-Wye. I don't know what you are looking for as regards ranges as there are several in the area but few that you would have access to and no centrefire commercial ranges that immediately come to mind.

I guess it depends which bit of near Hereford you are. Aside from the two mentioned, there's Town and Country in Leominster and Marsh Farm Country Supplies in Aymestry (if you want good deals on clothing). Sportsman at Newport is not far away. We're not awash with suppliers - there are several appointment only RFD's who bring things in to order when required.

Then try Stirling lines I think it's a TA base, where the Saturday And Sunday soldiers hang out.

8 x 57, Sterling Lines, just a housing estate these days I believe.

URX, sorry we’re not pokeing fun but Hereford’s famous for a few things. Bulmers cider, Hereford cattle and a certain regiment of men that have a reputation for being quite good at what they do. It has almost no motorway thus making it very rural, one of it’s best points if you ask me. It’s also a very pretty county and a great place to holiday, enjoy.

The old camp is indeed a housing estate these days but didn't they transfer the name when they moved across town to the old RAF Credenhill.
