Thread: Cost to have a barrel threaded?

Cost to have a barrel threaded?

Can anyone give me an idea of the cost to have a barrel threaded to accept moderator? It doesn't need length reduced. Sorry if it's a bit of a lame question but I've never had one done before and wouldn't know if 50 or 500 is a realistic price.

Get it done by a respected smith recommended and known for good workmanship

bad workmanship costs more in the long run

im sure someone on here will know a smith that could be local to your area

as for costs anything upto but hopefully no more than 100 or maybe 150 if they say it needs re proofing

but above all get it done by someone good

My god you lot have been robbed , I have had several rifles threaded and never paid anywhere near 100. I would expect to pay 35-50 plus proof unless you plan to keep the rifle then sod the proofing !

€40-€80 would be the going rate over here.

I had one done a few months ago. by wallace mcrae based around castle douglas. jackson rifles recomeded him along with a few others. he charged me 80 which included a new bush for wildcat mod.
I am very pleased with it. he is usually quite busy so had to wait a couple of weeks before getting it sorted.
