    Windex

    Hello,

Apparently for new Howa's part of the procedure for breaking in the rifle is to use Windex... What can I use in place of this??

    Many thanks.

That's Legacy Sports break in, not Howa's. Howa has already fired three to five jacketed rounds through the barrel before you got it so it's already 'broke', so to speak. However, Windex is an ammonia free glass cleaner/ degreaser. I'm sure you have some equivalent in the UK. Were I readying a new Howa I would clean the barrel with whatever bore cleaner I was planning on using, patch dry, and commence shooting.~Muir

If you really must, Windolene is ammonia free - but not the old pink one.
