    one mod two rifles

Might be a silly question.....but can you use one mod for multiple calibres? Assuming the threads are the same and the mod is proofed for the largest calibre that it is to be used for?
In my case I have 2 tikka super varmints.....one in .223 and the other in 6.5x55. Can i get one mod to fit both or is this not advisable?
    Cheers

I use an Atec Maxim 14-1 thread for both my rifles. Tikka T3 .308 and Tikka M55 .243. It works with no problems so far.

I ran an AU-SL5 in .30 cal on a 243 Win and a 260 Rem for a while and had no issues. The thread I had then was 1/2 inch x 20 UNF. One issue I note on my current rifles is that the threaded sections are cut to different lengths. I need to sort this out and get them all cut to the same length.

If you use an over the barrel type you may need different bushes if the barrel diameters are different. Not a problem with muzzle mounted mods.

    Just dont use the bush!

I must admit I don't use the bush and never had a problem

I actually think a well cut screw thread and an over barrel mod is better without the bush
