Thread: Sako L 61 R Finnbear AV .30-06 Rifle

  1. #1

    Sako Finnbear AV .30-06 Rifle

    Serial Number 600449
I bought this rifle in 2002 and my gunsmith told me that it had been "hardly used".
Since then I have probably shot only 100 rounds through it.
It has a McMillan Varmint stock (14 1/2" LOP), it's been bedded by Rifle Craft, a Timney Trigger fitted and the barrel is threaded 28 x 1/2 UNF
Fitted with Sako rings and a Schmidt & Bender 1.5 - 6 X 42 scope which looks like new.
I have receipts for all the work that's been done to it.
Only selling because I have changed to .308 and it's now sitting in my gun safe feeling lonely.
I have the original wooden stock and trigger as well.
I'd prefer to sell it complete as it is all set up and ready to go. It shoots extremely well (for me, anyway!)
I am looking for 1,100 for the complete outfit.

I appreciate what you've posted re selling complete, however, I'm looking for some 30mm dovetail rings for an AV (preferably Sako brand)

Would you consider parting if someone just wanted the scope or rifle?

I was going to say yea please, but looking at the bolt shroud that's not the L61R, that's the AV. the 61 has the more exposed cocking piece like the mausers, of course, which is where from sako derived the l61r given their earlier rifle was built on a commercial fn action.

RM, why sako, if you want really good quality 30mm rings have a look at the Recknagel offerings, or get Erwin Peumans from Alan Rhone to help you find something solid.

Apologies for that, I have tried to edit the title to reflect this.
