Hi PAULT, are these the short or long bases? are they blued or stainless? cheers

Blued I'm not sure if long or short they been on two different sako rifles.

Are they longer than 30mm? If so they are the long bases. The short bases fit the sako 75 action 1 and 111 but the longs fit only 111 and above. Thanks

This is interesting. My experience suggests that the difference between the bases for long actions and those for short actions is not the length of the base itself, but rather the position of the hole into which the ring fits.
On the long-action bases, the hole in the front base is to the rear (nearest the magazine) and on the short-action base it is towards the muzzle.
Does that make sense? Pics here http://www.sako.fi/pdf/specs/Optilockbase.pdf

Thank you Dalua. You are right. I never noticed that before and assumed that the long action bases would be longer(what was that about assumption?). Are they long or short Paul, it's the shorts I'm after.
