    Zeiss scope prob

Hi chaps I have a problem and hoping for some advice, went to the mil range Sunday with the club and discovered that the windage knob on my Zeiss Victory Varipoint M 3-12x56 T had ceased to function, it pulls out, turns freely but there is no resistance or click and does not alter the windage at all.

the scope has not been dropped, knocked or abused in any way so I am at a loss as to what has happened, the shot placement at 100yds is 3" right, elevation adjusts perfectly.

Im loath to attempt any diy fixes so advice please.

    thanks WB

Thats what I was thinking, does anyone have a name/email contact for Zeiss at Cambridge, I had a prob with Zeiss binos recently which they were very good about but I have mislaid the details.

Just a thought but is pulling the turret out just allowing you to set the zero mark of the graduated ring, try turning the turret with out pulling it out !!

Thats what hat i was thinking also by pulling it out you can set the zero point of the turret but the windage wont adjust

Hi, had been trying to adjust windage without pulling the wheel out, it was working fine last time I checked zero, several people looked at it on the range and found the same problem, it was locked up, the adjustment had somehow seized, I say was because in transit home it has freed up and now moves quite freely.

How this has happened is beyond me but obviously I am relieved that I will not be without it.

Thanks for the advice and replies, and thank you MAK for the reassuring info re. Zeiss. Who incidently offered an extremely good service on a pair of Victory Binos I had a problem with last year.

    Thanks All WB

I would have the Zeiss guys look at it, even though it "shook loose" again, better to have it checked out and be sure the same fault won`t come back again.
