    70gr blitzking powder choice

Has I've said, I've just got some of these to try in my 243 (tikka 595). Now I've got varget, h380 and h414. Which would be your choice of powder for said bullet.

    Cheers Gavin.

Hello Gavin, Having run some numbers for you we give you the following, 42.5 gns varget gave 3358 fps, 44.5 gns of H380 gave 3392 fps , and 47.5 grns of H414 gave 3448 fps. Varget would have been ideal however it is is difficult to obtain, (our delivery was sold out in 35 mins ) and H414 is using a lot of powder per case. H380 is going to give you good velocity, reasonable economy :157 rounds per lb. and is available.

another powder to consider if you run out of the Hodgdon powders is IMR 4320 which gives figures identical to Varget and Vit N140 . I hope that is of assistance, respectfully Mike Norris Brock and Norris Custom Rifles

Thank you for that Mike, I've just picked up a fresh tub of varget other day so I've got a tub and half of that. Think I'll give varget a go and see how it shoots and go to H380 if not happy with it.

    Cheers Gavin.

Try the varget, you'll be impressed. My rifle preferred less powder than quoted above
