    Fallow button buck

Shot a fallow buck today with proper pedicels and then a button on top of each.

never seen this I would expect a spike coming out of each pedicel. It didn't look old but I also don't believe it's a follower from this year. I haven't shot loads but this is out of the normal pattern for where I shoot.

There was nothing else in the gralloch that was unusual but when I split the haunches I found some nodes between the tissues - a string of small black ones and one kidney bean size but white and not full of liquid but solid.

the carcass was in great condition with a sign of some mild scouring but from a while ago, dried out. Animal acted normally before being shot.

    is this unusual?

    thanks all

Very common pricket head in many areas. you may not see many like that in your area if the feeding is good.
