    Great Example of Persian/Turkish Slipper

    Hi All,

Thought I would share my pictures of a Fallow Buck I shot last Sunday morning as it is the first time I had ever come across the deformity "Persian Slipper"

As you will see from the photos all four feet have the deformity

Not sure what your thoughts are but I get the impression this is usually found in Roe and quite rare in other species such as fallow?

    Regards

We see this condition regularly in Muntjac that are living in woodland on fen peat. The soft ground does not create enough wear to counter overgrowth.

I too see this quite regularly with muntjac.

In fact a friend off this site came for a muntjac at the weekend, it had Aladdin's slipper, not as extreme as this case but definitely noticeable.
