Thread: Choosing a whiskey.

  1. #1

    Choosing a whiskey.

It`s coming to that time of year where i choose my Christmas day bottle of whiskey.
I normally spend up to 30 ish and try a different one each year.
If I were to treat myself to a bottle i would normally buy a bottle of Grouse but i`m curious as to the taste difference between ordinary Grouse and Black Grouse.
    Anyone know?

30 will buy a much better bottle of Irish whiskey than Scotch. In any case the words "treat" and "grouse" should not appear in the same sentence.

See if if you can get any of these, in this order:

    Jameson's Redbreast
    Jameson's Crested Ten
    Bushmills 10 year Single Malt.

    Redbreast is fantastic.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......

I seem to dimly remember a bottle of bushmills 'black bush' a few years back that went down rather well......

I agree with Claret_Dabbler. When you are spelling whiskey with the 'e' you may as well go Irish. Red breast is a lovely whiskey. Bushmills Black Bush is a personal favourite. A blend, very easy to drink!( too much). In scotch I like any of the Glenfiddich or Glenmorangie variants ( don't like peated whisky). I have a bottle of 18 year old Glenfiddich for my christmas tipple.

Black Grouse is a different whisky completely far nicer. normal grouse is way down on my choice, but then again there is no such thing as a bad whisky just that some taste better than others.
