I could be persuaded to get a 30-06 if it were this one

Why is it that we can have .22 rimfire semi auto with as many banana magazines as we want. We can have a rifle with a 10 shot magazine. We can have a moderated rifle.
We can have a 3 shot or 7 shot shotgun using slugs.
But we can't have a 3 shot rifle.
I don't particularly like magnum calibres but people using this rifle say its like shooting a .308 with the recoil reduction of the gas system.
    I could be persuaded.

It might be nice to shoot, but it's ugly as sin! If I was after a semiauto, I think I'd rather have a Browning BAR, or an H&K SLB2000.

Agreed, that is one butt ugly gun!

Jesus! nearly lost my breakfast there!
    form over function

Get a rifle that fits in an appropriate weight and shoot in positions that allow for recoil and you shouldn't notice
(30-06,T3 lightwieght, prone off a bipod with no fore end control is NOT an example of the above!)
you can even get recoil absorbing units to go in the stocks of shotguns

I have used said Benelli in 30/06. It might not be pretty, but the ergonomics and handling characteristics are absolutely excellent.

It is really a gun for driven game rather than stalking. I'd own one in a heartbeat if they were legal here.

Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get you......
