Reduced recoil factory loads

Has anyone any experience of the following factory ammo?

*Federal Low Recoil
*Remington Managed Recoil

Thanks

I have loaded reduced recoil load for years for practice, and for match shooting at short range ( 200 yard ).
125-gr at 2,600 fps from a .30-06 or .308 Win shoots like a 6.5x55 or .257 Roberts, flat enough to 200 yards and lethal.
130-gr .270 at 2,650 is the same.
120-gr 7x57 or 7mm-08 at 2,650 fps, the same - accurate and deadly.

I have shot some of the Remington loads for .270 Win with 115-gr at 2,650 fps, and it has very little recoil. It shot well out to 200 yards. I was curious about loading up some 115-gr loads for practice, but the bullets were so hard to find, that I have not done it.

Load your own with H4895.

i don't load yet, but thought I would try one of these offerings. I shoot deer in thick woodland and no shot ever seems to be more than 70 yards, 100 as a maximum. I'm not particularly recoil sensitive but it may still improve my shooting. Thanks.

I reckon anyone will shoot better with reduced recoil.........

I don't mind the kick from my rifles, but I can appreciate that reduced recoil would be a massive advantage in a lot of cases, especially when it comes to keeping the sight picture following the shot :thumb:

Yes, it is. I started on these for 200 yard reduced target service rifle matches. The loads are gentle on the M1 Garand and M1A, too. So I started shooting some in my FAL and HK-91. I loaded mild loads for my FR-8 bolt action to match the original loads, for the sights on it. I always loaded mild loads for my 1888 Commission 8x57J, of 170-gr Speer at 2,400 fps.

Then I loaded a mild 120-gr Ballistic Tip in the 7mm-08 to start off my son deer hunting. He could call his shots and see the impact, too. We found that the BT and Sierra 120-gr were terrific deer bullets out to 200 yards. A 120 to 130-gr bullet arriving at 2400 fps is still just as lethal, whether it was launched 100 yards away or 400 yards away.

The reduced muzzle blast is nicer, the loads are less expensive, and you can enjoy shooting 40 rounds from hunting positions, for realistic practice. These are good loads to get your new scope close to center, before sighting in your favorite hunting loads.
