Lotsa deer!

Golly, so many deer yesterday - none shot right enough but that was due to location(s). Three, a doe and twins, just at the golf course at Gleneagles and then, best sighting of the day a doe and triplets just at the roundabout in Stirling. I hope they either didn't try and get across the road or made it safely. Out at Kippen another doe and twins and then later in the day, when actually stalking, a doe and a fawn - but on the other side of the march. Bloody usual.
The night before I had sat at a new bit of ground just to reconnoitre the place. Very flat and lots of dog walkers which makes it challenging, but there is one field with a big dip in it which will give me my backstop. Quite a finite position however. Anyway, nothing, nothing, nothing, getting darker, so nearly home time, but just have a look at a different bit. Doe and twins. Good. Getting into the pickup I blethered to the old chap who owns the place for a minute and then just had a wee look to the side of the house. Whoop de doo - another four. Gaun yersel Jimmy! I'll wait till everyone gets back to work on Monday and then get started on them.
The highlight was the triplets. Great to see.
Happy new year lads.

There's a lot of boys from Perthshire on this site. We'll hopefully hear from them - and the lads to the North as well.
Off over slightly West in the morning to a bit we haven't been to for a while. It'll have been plagued with walkers over the festive season. We shall see.

Great idea. I'm away a lot but count me in. Perthshire lads, get cracking! I've been told that as I get older I must exercise, which I do, socialise, which I don't do enough of (and Ray's suggestion will help) and not smoke. Easy peasy.

I'm Montrose Ray , but would be up for that , bit of a wee informal northern SD. Soirée !
I'd bring a venny burger or 2 for BBQ .
As others have said tho I'm awa morn for 5 weeks this time :(.

I'm jealous you have a 50 m .22 range !!!!!

A'the best

I do a pretty nice line in sausages & pulled pork, although I say so myself. Be more than happy to chip in towards a BBQ. Not far from Coupar Angus :thumb:

Might be an idea to wait until it's a tad warmer though :D
