    Question about two-strap slings

These slings with two shoulder straps, or a chest strap, hold the rifle with its side against the shooter's back, which seems to put a lot of torsion on the swivels. Do you use a swivel that actually swivels, rather than just swinging in line with the rifle?

A custom rifle I saw recently being carried vertically down the centreline of the back, rucksack style, had the QD studs threaded into the side of the stock and forend.

And which sling are you using?
One of my 1970s Steyr Mannlichers has swivels which rotate, and relieve any strain from twisting.
