    Any body know the twist rate on the above rifle in 308 cheers TM 270

    I strongly suspect 1:10.

    Do you have it? you can measure it easily using a cleaning rod like the Parker Hale that freely spin above the handle.

    Thanks P it's what I suspected myself looked on another forum (sorry sd ) and got several variations not got the rifle yet seriously looking tho wanting to cut barrel as short as poss 18" os 16" looking to make a woodland rifle cheers again TM 270

    If you need one, I have the most awesome .308 mauser forest rifle for sale on here! Best woodland gun I ever owned tbh. Pm me if of interest to discuss, could prob be cut to 18", killer with 200g nosler partitions in woods, or swift a frame.

    Most Sako .308s are 1:11.
    Most other brands are 1:12.
    my Beretta .308 ( built by Sako at the same time as the L591) is 1:11.

    Why cut it to 16 inches, making it so loud, then putting on a moderator which gets it back to 24 inches or more?
    I would just cut it no shorter than 20 inches, and probably leave it at 22", no moderator, much quicker to mount and swing.

    TM, it's designated as M591 in 308 (as is Medium action) and has a 1 in 11" twist.
