    now on its 800th year do you think they stuck to it over the years, in mho thats a big fat NO! and how they can drag it out to be reviered all over the world is a bit of a joke ...what do you all think

    Well it's important in the sense that it established that the Law was superior to the will of the monarch and was the first document to do that, but you can't then rest on your laurels for eight centuries. It's not the be all and end all of human rights or anything like that. The rights and freedoms it grants are pretty basic and really only apply to the ruling class anyway. I think that in "1066 and All That" the authors kept adding to all the clauses the phrase "except the Common People" which is a reasonably accurate satire.

    And look at the murdering adulterer that formed the CofE? He was a great example?
