Stalking scope - Meopta Artemis 6x42 8B reticle - Used

    Folks,

I am selling a Meopta Artemis in 6x42.

This is a classic deer stalking scope, with truly excellent glass (Schott glass as used by Zeiss), 1" tube and comes complete with Butler Creek flip-up lens covers.

This model has the 8B rangefinding reticle, which is a very heavy/fine duplex combination with a bracketing stadia allowing range estimation.

    Tech details here:

    http://www.bignami.it/cataloghi/meop...iflescopes.htm

The scope has been used for a couple years, and proved to hold its zero on .270 & 30'06 calibres. There are quite a few deer who could testify to this.

It is in perfect working order, but bears a few minor scratches (hourable battle scars) and has a piece of dust showing at ten o'clock of the cross-hair, as shown in the attached photo. This in no way affects the image or light-gathering ability of the scope.

These now cost 380 to buy new from the Sportsman Gun Centre

    http://www.sportsmanguncentre.co.uk/...mis+2000+6x42/

I am asking for 180 including postage & packing.

As usual, first to confirm on this thread will buy.

    Thanks for looking

    Rgds

I think you have found yourself a bargain, Caveat Emptor I am sure will not apply in this case and best of all no silly bidding. I would say Good Price + Good Condition = A quick sale. I do not think you will disatisfied with this purchase.

Alas, neither scope nor deer are currently available for comment!

Upshot of the sale was interesting, the buyer was lucky enough to get a full service and re-gass courtesy of Meopta - for free!! Great customer service & I am guessing he is happy with his purchase.

Meopta customer service is excellent. I returned a 6x42 when i noticed a mark on the inside of objective lense. About 6 years old maybe. Brand new scope sent by return.

Oh. I contacted Meopta in the Czech republic quoting the serial number on my 6x42 but was contacted by Marchwood not Meopta. Is there a Meopta UK?

Dicky, Marchwood are the importers/distributors for Meopta in the U.K.
It's the calibre of the shooter that counts not the calibre of the rifle.
