This is something that's been awaited for some time in Europe and it looks like Krieghoff have got there before Blaser....unless one of you guys knows different?
The question is: having had my K95 for over ten years now and not having felt disadvantaged by having to manually extract fired cartridges, would I swap for an ejector version?
Probably not.
But if one had been available when I bought my rifle, I'd definitely have had the ejector system.
What do you folk think? ATB

I *think* that the Krieghoff Essencia sidelock ejector kiplauf has been available for a while, but at what cost!

Interesting to see that it's now available as a custom built extra on the Hubertus though - any idea of what it adds to the circa £5k 'base' model?

Unless the lottery comes up in the near future, I think I'll stick with my Heym for the time being. ;)

If you have a rimmed cartridge, break the barrel, tip it sideways and the empty just falls out at your feet - no need for an ejector system to kick the cartridge clear. Was at Kelso today and had a good look at the Blaser single shot in 308. Nice rifle, but a bit fidly to extract a cartridge without a proper rim.

Never had a problem extracting cartridges manually from my K95....although I guess if you bite your nails it's probably trickier.

+1 but then again I'm not a nervous person! :D

No problem with my Heym 44B kiplauf in 7x57 Mauser (rimless) either. The extractor raises the cartridge case enough to get a grip on it with two fingers, even with gloves on.

Had a look at the video - looks a nice feature, but more to go wrong, and the noise of the ejector going off could easily alert quarry to where you are. I have found over the years, deer know a shot has gone off, but often cant pin point it, but a metallic rattle of a bolt etc allows them to pinpoint you. If you look at the video here Krieghoff: Lexicon - you can see the satndard quick reload.

I suppose a lot comes down to cost, but I am not sure on a simgle shot it would be worth huge amount of additional money on a feature that's possibly not needed.

extracting a flangeless brass , hold your next round reversed in your hand then hook the brass out with the groove turn your wrist and slip the round into the chamber,no fiddling and looks smart .
