so if a candidate fails one part ie the main paper, you give them their money back? :-| what happens to the rest of their completed assessment components in such cases?

Does your assessor still submit the completed components through BASC and issue them with a referral form so they just have to resit the outstanding part they failed on or do they have to do it all again?

Hi Paul,

Thanks for your post.

Its not a matter of whether the candidate passes or fails, its a guarantee that we will issue a full refund of the course fees to the candidate if he/she feels that we didn't deliver the quality of service we promised. We feel that we can confidently offer this on the basis that our DSC1 training has never received a totally negative response from any candidates, and we deem it to amongst the highest quality training, and certainly the best value for money training available on the UK DSC1 training landscape.

Its simple really, if the DSC1 candidate doesn't receive the service they deserve, then they will certainly receive a full refund from us.

As part of our own in-house quality control procedures we receive feedback from each and every candidate at the end of each course. These are reviewed immediately after the course, and all our instructors attend a course review session after all candidates have left. Any negative feedback is examined by our review panel and if there are any shortfalls in our quality of service then they are addressed and rectified before the next course.

JELEN DEER SERVICES make every effort to ensure that our DSC1 candidates leave our courses happy in the knowledge that we have delivered a training program that exceeded their expectations. Any negative feedback or constructive criticism is listened to very carefully, and the company will ALWAYS make an effort to ensure that our customers leave our training centre happy, and if part of that process involves refunding the candidate, then we are happy to do that.

Whilst the independent DSC1 training sector throughout the UK has yielded much high quality training from companies such as YDS, Barony, Stalking in England and of course JELEN DEER SERVICES, the 'bandwagon' has also yielded much mediocrity from which some candidates have received a raw deal.

JELEN DEER SERVICES have never been afraid to challenge mediocrity, and we believe that we are the only company that has had the confidence to back our training with this GUARANTEE. If I'm wrong, then I both apologise to, and applaud any training provider that is offering this assurance, as it suggests that they share our level of confidence in the service they provide.

Regards,

Mike.

Mike, thanks for taking the time to reply but you didn't answer the questions. You and I know that candidates fail assessments and that's down to the candidate on the day whether they are a bag of nerves on the range or just weren't ready for the assessment papers. We as trainers can do everything right but we aren't doing the assessments at the end of the day.

My questions:

My questions:

Hi Paul,

We don't give refunds if somebody fails an element, as you say, in many cases it is down to the candidates nerves, or perhaps their failure to revise - our unique online Interactive Learning Centre (ILC) which we provide free for all candidates - has a facility for us to monitor how many times candidates visit the ILC, and their on-going performance levels. If we see someone struggling, then we will contact them well before the course to try and help them address the problems they experience. In this respect there is virtually no reason why candidates should fail. On the other hand if candidates fail to revise, we can't be held responsible for that. However, if the candidate failed because of something we (Jelen) failed to do then we would refund the entire tuition fees as part of our money back guarantee.

In the unlikely event that a refund is demanded, then candidates have the choice as to whether they want the entire fees refunded (Including BASC's bit and the Assessors fee), or simply the course tuition fees. If they require the entire fees back, then naturally no assessments will be forwarded to BASC/DMQ for assessment. However, if the candidate wishes to have only their course tuition fees refunded due to a shortfall in our service to them, then their completed components would be sent to BASC/DMQ as normal and therefore they would be issued referrals for those elements they failed.

Hope that answers your question.

Best regards,

Mike
