eggs

Hi all My hens have just started laying and this past 2 days eggs have been going missing without a trace no cracked egg shells no wet or slimey sawdust if an egg had be broken absolutely nothing! There are rats around but I couldn't see them lifting them and carrying them off. Any ideas??
