100% Burn

Best I could get was Ramshot Big Game, 60.2 grains 77.2% fill, 99.98 % burn. 3000 ish fps pressure up near limits but not in the coloured zones.

So I have GRT and I’m looking at bullet and powder selection.

I don’t like buying things that won’t work, it’s already a gamble for accuracy.

Looking at load data from companies, many of them do not have 100% burn. Now this is the first time I have ever bothered doing this, I’m guessing I’m over thinking.

Before I get the replies, yes it’s for deer, yes I understand that 1” at a 100 will do. I would just like it to be as accurate as possible.

It’s 7mm08 and bullets are 120gr TTSX, 130gr Fox and lead 139gr.

Before all these electronic modelling programmes no one worried about 100% burn, they still shot accurately.

The internet is a red herring often.
Cfe223 get slated but last night I shot the end of a house brick from quad sticks from 39gn of cfe223 from the ancient 3030 and a 110 Barnes in a lousy leveraction at a piddly 240 yds .
I couldn't care less for burn % blah blah

Yes however where I was last night the tripod was selected.

My next powder, when I run out of H4350 he’s going to be N160 and I don’t think that’ll be too far out for your 708

N160 is to slow a burn.
N150 for the heavier 150 grain or N140 for the 120 grain

To the crux of 100% burn - for me, it’s about not subjecting the moderator to more burning/blast than necessary. I shoot only 20” barrels in all my CF calibres and manage 100% burn loads in all. However, in 10 years I’ve still had a gas cut in a F&D moderator though

Gas does also exit prior to the projectile though.
