#1405, Ladder Pattern Welded Steel and Giraffe Bone

This is a proper little stunner.

Blade length is around 3", overall 7" or so.

UK made, pattern welded stainless steel, there isn't much of that around at all as stainless is very difficult to weld in this way, but here you have some (outsourced from a pro BTW, I didn't weld the steel).

Steel grades combined here are SF100 and 440B, both great blade steels and they are welded in Ladder pattern.

Heat treated to Rc60/61.

Handle scales are ochre dyed, and stabilised, Giraffe shin bone. Shin being particularly suitable as with your average Giraffe being a big beast, and all its weight transferred through four narrow bones during its life, they become very dense. Perfect for knife handle scales and the stabilising only improves them.

Thin red liners, which in my honest opinion, sets the scales off perfectly.

A beautiful little gem that should be with its owner on Saturday.
