17 Hornet

What fps do they reach mate?
using up Vectan SP3 i used to use in .410 cartridge reloading.

magnetospeed V3 chronograph.

Settled on 10.1grains of SP3 and velocity average 3,560 fps

11grains gave as high as 3805 fps

but 10.1 gave best ES, SD and group, the rabbits have yet to complain.

little play with N110 at 9.3grains gave 3460 fps

Savage rifle.

They make a nice cheap accurate round, for the shooting I do out to around 150yards in the dark.

Yet to try lilgun in the .17 hornet, but now have some for the .22 hornet I recently got but not had time yet to visit a range, so just putting 13grains in and 40grain blitzking, zeroed it and using it 😊

loaded lots of them in 17 grains what advice would you like?

Hi sorry for such a late reply. I bought a CZ 527- 17H. Although I haven't used it much so far, l will soon. I've got N110 and N120 powder. I've only used N120, starting on 10gr and increasing in .1 increments up to 10.8gr. Not a bad group with 10.8.
I have not chronographed it yet. What do you suggest, should increase the load? I've got also 15.5gr as well as 20gr bullets. Any recommendation for loads on them?

sorry only tried n110 for a few shot as have plenty of SP3 still as far as it goes as need so little in the .17H.
you really need a chronograph to see what velocity you are getting, have said that if 10.8 of N120 is giving yiu a nice group then remember velocity is no good wothout accuracy.
Why not try the N110 also.
