Hello All,

Looking for either of the above,

Both daughters are showing a keen interest in clay shooting. The days of being happy to launch the clays and score dad are waining!! They are both ( 16/15 years old) nagging to have a go and have asked for some lessons for Christmas presents so looking for either of the above.

Not looking for a youth model as they are both lanky like dad and that has the added benefit of me also being able to knick it for a go!!!

What does the membership have/ or recommend.

Kind regards
Tim

You can’t go wrong with the Yildiz 410 multi choke comes in ejector and non ejector. Two of my friends use them on clays and partridge to great effect.

Yildiz or kofs would be the way to go. A mate of mine has a near new yildiz for sale at £400 but might be too far away from you (Cumbria)

Kofs Sceptre are cracking guns. I use one in a 12 for coaching. Light, decent pad to absorb recoil, can be fierce with full game loads due to short forcing cones but with 21 or 24g loads it's great.. My friend uses the .410 version for kids coaching. I think the 20 bore version would also be a very nice gun and won't limit you on cartridge selection or availability and won't pull your pants down when it comes to prices!!

If they are 15 and 16 already, I would skip the .410, then make the decision a choice between 28b and 20b.
Can't comment on Kofs, but I have shot a couple of Yildiz in 28b and they seem good value for the money.

I would second this also.

Skip the .410 completely.

Thanks to all those that replied. Today found us down the clay ground with a loaned 28g kofs sceptre. (Teacher training day)
Not a bad little gun. They both shot well and it came down to a shoot off, with the younger holding her nerve to beat her sister.
I fancy ago with that on some partridge!

Too late for 410/28b at that age. Either go 20b or more sensibly straight to a lightweight 12b. Plenty of light loads available.
My son started at 9 with a 28b Yildiz and progressed to the same in 20b, the Yildiz was a cracking gun for the money whereas the Kofs that I looked at was rather poor in comparison for not a lot less.
