Hi Ben,
I followed your advice and I loaded the .30-06 as follows:
-Barnes TSX 130 grs
-OAL 3.218”
-Norma 203B*C starting with 53.0 grs and increase load by .3 grs steps.
I measured the speed with a AmmoMaster Chronograph, (marketed by RCBS), placed at about 3 m (10 ft.) from the muzzle.
Here are the measurements
The speed consistency from shot 5 to shot 8 is probably due to the fact that the display was set in m/s and that the conversion to fps wad calculated later on.
After shot 6 I started smelling a rat, as the speed consistency was simply unbelievable.
After shot 8 I had to change the battery as the display showed that it was too low.
The speed measured after the change are absolutely absurd, being much less than any logical expectation.
What do you suggest, besides using another chrono?
Many thanks in advance for the attention
