4x2

As admin are on holiday and we all seem to have broken out into silly season can I ask what 4x2
1. Car =freely available at any car supermaket website
2. Quad bike=have a look on Fleabay
3. Rifle scope=not sure anyone makes this size as 2mm obj would pose some issues at dusk
4. Wood=Are you a builder? You should know where to buy wood but start at B&Q

And why is your post under gunsmithing section if its for either 1,2, or 4

Sorry

Don't forget that stuff they used at the turn of the century for rifle cleaning .......

Thats 4x2, as in the rolls of cotton bore cleaning material with red markings. Issued to the forces before they changed to pop guns.

One of the most famous cleaning materiels used the world over.
There is also a 2x2 available, I have rolls of both and use them quite often.
I cannot imagine any gun owner not having heard of it or knowing what it is is.

Four-be-Two as it's often pronounced. Sadly I ran out of it some time back. I also used the Rapier Rifle clean to good effect.

Wilf, Get yourself down to Bisley Pavillion Saturday or Sunday (19th & 20th) to the Trafalgar meet. There will be roll after roll of it on the stalls there.

by the roll or patches!
up date to your post (I may well do that. What sort of stuff is sold in the Pavillion?)
all manner of wondrous things for the discerning shooter who still remembers 4x2

The size 4x2 is perfect for cleaning the good ole 303 and that is just what it was intended for and also used for.

Used it on .303 in the cadets and on the good old L1A1 later in life :-D
Nearly spat my tea when an FNG asked has anyone got any 100x50
Have a roll in my cleaning box that I got for my K98 think it came from Kranks.

Beware...not only the jabberwocky...but also if buying by mail or eBay inferior so-called 4x2 that is fluffy and "linty" (if such a word exists) passed off as proper 4x2. It isn't!

I try my best not to give bad or misleading advice.

The product indicated is from Ramco - a well known army surplus authorised dealer.

The product is advertised "lint-free".

I use it myself and it is not the inferior fluffy stuff.

RAMCO used to have a walk in store but that's all gone now they have an auction and the web now as I understand it and the postage is quite steep.
