What are folks experiences running lighter bullets in the 6.5x47 ? How well do they work when not seated close to the lands ?

Mine worked fine but didnt knock the larger deer over as well at the longer ranges i shoot at. They drift mire in the wind and dont hit as hard

I use 123amax as it is now my range rifle but It like the 120 much better and I was using 120 bt nos rolled fallow with ease but would have to have looked hard at bullet choice , if I was to have gone after anything bigger never did so had no worries .

My 260rem shoots the 95gr vmax into cloverleafs. It's throated to suit 140gr bergers.

That's comforting, just the sort of thing I was hoping to hear. Wondered if a chamber was cut to suit the ubiquitous Amax 120/123gr bullets if it would still work with a bigger jump.

What sort of velocity are you getting tramp ?
A nice easy 3310 fps. Nowhere near to being hot, but certainly fast enough that foxes seem to drop faster than the sear
