7 mag build B E precision

I just wanted to share my experience having a 7 rem mag built around a sendero doner rifle recently. I had seen Gary from B E precision start advertising on here and being fairly local started talking to him about the fact that I was after a new 7 rem mag built on a sendero action. He managed to go above and beyond finding me a donar rifle in .300rum and then re barreling it to my spec and fitting a bix nd Andy trigger. Today I had my first opportunity to get it set up despite picking it up 6 weeks ago (been flat out culling) and I was over the moon with how it performed. I’m running it in with some 162gr eld x factory ammunition but will be moving it over to non toxic before long. 3x 5 shot groups at 100m to get it zeroed ( all around the 0.5” mark). I then had a shot at the 700m gong to check the data from the chronograph and hit smack centre, I wanted to shoot a group at 700 but the shot knocked the gong off of the stand. Basically it’s a shoutout to Gary, if anyone is needing any barrel work doing contact BE precision on here, I doubt you will be disappointed.

Nice rifle in a great calibre. I started much the same as you with the HS stock and Remmie action but mine now wears a PSE stock. How do you get on with the Swarovski DS?

Im a big fan of the ds. It’s come off of my creedmoor, it’s absolutely an advantage for shooting multiples out of the herding species due to how much quicker you can get dialled on the next deer. Iv heard of people who don’t recon that they are as accurate, but I think it’s a case of them inputting crap data in the app and getting crap results out!

A friend bought one yesterday, he verified his home loads via chronograph and uploaded the data and said it was smack on.

Another Essex based shooter I know has one and has managed to cull 530 fallow so far this season.

However , I don’t think they are great in low light , but you can make up for it in the day.

They aren’t too bad in low light, however you might notice mine is mounted fairly high, this is because I fit a krypton front add on as soon as the light starts dropping off.

It was an 'in joke' sorry to Selous who helps me on the hill in Scotland on some 'testing' red hind culls. Some rapid dialling occurs and, of course a DS would get round that.

I use a Z6i on one rifle so like Swaro scopes. My brother in law was a contractor in the Highlands and struggled with zeroing the DS but, he's a bit of a luddite and I have considered one at times since for the hill

No, I’m crippled a bit by having to use factory non toxic. I like the look of the yew trees but there is no factory offering. I will probably try the barnes lrx.
Great looking rifle, I might suggest sorting the Barnes. My experience is this saves much headache when shooting beyond 500 yds.
Good luck!
