Hi lads, anyone have any data for the 7x64 with viht140. For use with 120gr bullets. Had a quick look online but abit sparse.
Cheers

The N140 is a little fast. 7x64 and their ilk are better with slower powders such as N150, N160 and the older IMR 4350, 4831 etc.

However the Fox ammo is using N140 in the 7x57 and 7mm-08 - but these are smaller cases. In the 7x64 you have more volume and with N140 I suspect would be getting into pressure problems with a full case load of powder.

I would agree a bit quick. I ran Gordon's reloading tool with a 120gr Nosler Ballistic Tip and got pressure warnings with N140 at only just over 80% case fill.

Im useing n140 in my 7x57 with good results but agree that it may be a bit hot for the 7x64mm just in the process of loading some test rounds for my 7x64 useing n560 tho useing a heavier bullet (barnes 150g tsx) than the 130g fox bullets I use in the 7 x57

I'm getting the best results for accuracy in my 7x64 with Reloder 26 loaded at moderate pressures 46000-50000 psi. My old faithful Vit N560 did not work so well.
