I use Manthorpe Slate and Stone: Slate Fireplaces fairly regularly. They will have what you need.
I am looking for a 600x 1200mm 25 - 50mm thick piece of slate.
Why?
It is to make a memorial stone for my daughter that passed away five years ago. I have never found a stone mason that can do what I am looking for.
I have permission from my local council to do what I want. Building contorl have said they will check it for conformity. So legally every thing is in place.
I did have a piece coming from a retired snooker table but the guy destroyed it trying to get it out himself and it's now too short for requirement.
If any one knows where I might find a piece can you let me know?
Thanks Guys.
Sorry I can't help Jim but but wish you all the best with your quest, must be tearing you apart bud.
Hi mate
I'm truely sorry for your loss. I'm still in the costa's at the mo but when I get back I'll speak to Riche a mate of mine who runs a stone masons and see what he can help with.

You should be able to pick up a used pool table from ebay or put the feelers out at pubs/snooker halls.

Simjim33;376274 A bit weird but we do the cake and all.[/QUOTE said:Nothing "weird" about that whatsoever. I hate to think how I would react.
Death is nothing at all,
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I, and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other, that, we still are.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used,
Put no difference in your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity nor sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the jokes we shared.
Let my name ever be the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was, there is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am waiting for you, for an interval.
Somewhere, very near.
Just around the corner.
All is well
